Once again Frank151 has asked us to do another mix for them of interesting undiscovered funky music. This time Deano Sounds decided to delve into his Caribbean crates for some hot sizzling selections. Here’s what he had to say about them.
“These are some of my current favorite Caribbean disco-funk influenced records at the moment. You’ll find some well-worn tracks to some ungoogleable stuff including Joanne Wilson and New Connection.
In conjunction with this mix are some tracks from Charlie’s Records including Patti Charles’ “Music Lady” and Hamilton Brother’s “Music Makes the World Go Round” which you will be able to find on the upcoming Cultures of Soul Records anthology of Charlie’s Records that is in the pipeline.
